convalescing

It’s was a funny kind of weekend in our house. We had work plans, reno plans and paperwork plans with some fun thrown in to reward us for all our hard work and productivity.

Instead, Dan and I ended up with a bug of some sort and spent the weekend convalescing. A couple of the littles were under the weather last week but we didn’t think much of it because it was so mild. It hit us adults rather harder. At least we didn’t fall together – I was almost back on my feet by the time Dan went down. We said many prayers, diffused essential oils and lathered everyone down with them. Thankfully Dan and I are feeling much better now (hoping perhaps to find some of those lost hours of sleep) and the kids are all fit as fiddles.

The wonderful little people in this house took care of us, offered helping hands and provided lots of comic relief and cuddles. Thought I would share a little peek at how they cheered us up.

While helping to fold some clothes they decided to host a little fashion show of Daddy’s clothes.

The taxes are undone, there is still a hole in the drywall and there is a pile of paperwork on the counter but the love in this house grows our hearts daily…and helps us get through the harder days a little more gracefully.

Thanks for the kind comments and well wishes yesterday, I’m sure they got me back on my feet sooner!
