Coming in with this a little late in the day…
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal
into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our
past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie
In the name of gratitude and truthfulness I’ve decided to post a little piece of reality here once a week. Likely just a single picture. See my original post here.
Today I am so very, very thankful for mothers. Women who allow themselves to grow, change and stretch in the name of mothering. Who have learned a whole new set of skills – many of which they never expected to require. Who have given of themselves in order to fill others – and be filled even fuller in return. Who have opened themselves up to the joy, pain, sacrifice and grace of mothering – whether they are mothers by definition or by nature. I am thankful for my mother, the many women who have mothered me and the mothers who inspire me daily.
If you’d like to join in with a reality check of your own, please add a link or note in the comments!
Hope you’ve enjoyed your day, mamas! I’m thankful for you today and everyday.
