“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal
into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our
past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie
In the name of gratitude and truthfulness I’ve decided to post a little piece of reality here once a week. Likely just a single picture. See my original post here.
Today, I’m thankful for little fingers – little fingers that give big hugs, little fingers that hold tight to older hands and little fingers that make big messes.
If you’d like to join in with a reality check of your own, please add a link or note in the comments!
You my friend are the bomb! I love that you can look at a mess made and remember how perfect and wonderful the little hands that made it are. It’s so hard to not get frustrated by messes made sometimes.
Love this idea! We certainly have our fair share of “real” around here too! Great pic… and how true your gratefulness for the little hands that made the pic possible! Beautiful.
Oh yes. Carpet and spilled beads that are too big for a vacuum.
Deep breath. Gratitude. You got it!
XO
It’s the little things that *get* us, and it’s the little things we need to stop and admire. Great idea here, lady. Today I’m appreciating the sunshine tiny bare shoulders of my nineteen month old in a madras sundress. Sweetness.
What a beautiful poem. I was exhausted from cleaning up messes this weekend from my children but then pause to remember that someday my house will be clan and quiet and I will miss those messes like mad.
I’m really glad you post these. I always enjoy looking at them and sympathizing. I appreciate that you try to see the good in things that can drive you up the wall, like tiny little things all over the floor!
It’d probably do me good to practise some gratitude in reality-check moments. Next time I’ll take a deep breath and whip out the camera! đŸ™‚
Ok, I took a deep breath and was grateful. Loved it. Thank you!
