This weekend amongst boards games, play dough, reading and Playmobil, our weather (mercifully) warmed up and we headed to the zoo. Daddy stayed home with little brother so he wouldn’t miss his nap and we were joined by a sweet friend and one of her sweet little guys.
Raffi was sung (bonus points if you can guess which song).
Hat hair saw the light of day.
Friends were made.
Snacks were enjoyed.
Mittens were removed.
It was wonderful.
It gets so easy for me to hibernate during these short, winter days. After the cold we’ve had it has been a sweet relief to get out and enjoy the sun without the wind burning our faces red. Although spring is still months away it is nice to be reminded that the promise of spring never fails. Days lengthen, snow melts and flowers bloom.
For now, we’ll enjoy them in the conservatory.
Hope your weekend was lovely, too!
I’m gonna make a guess the song was baby beluga…nah I think it’s a little more obvious than that eh?
Love the photos Rachel! Looks like you guys had a great time!
Wish we’d been there with you!
Oh how much fun! We don’t have a zoo near us but when we were in Vancouver during the summer we went to the aquarium and the kids just LOVED it 🙂 I can just imagine them singing the Raffi song *grin*.
I haven’t had a chance to try your bread yet. I ended up making a pumpkin flax one with my hand ground flour on my blog but yours is definitely next!
This looks likes Ama’s favourite area – the hippos! The only Raffi song I remember is Baby Baluga, but how about Simon and Garfunkel “At the Zoo”? Bring on spring (even if it’s in the conservatory)!
We’d love extra company any time any of you are in town!
No belugas at this zoo 😉
We went to the aquarium this year, too, Rosina! And, of course, Baby Beluga would be very suiting!
“Goin’ to the zoo zoo zoo,
How about you, you, you.
Wanna come too, too, too?
We’re goin’ to the zoo, zoo, zoo!”
Your kids are sooo cute, and they look like you!
