“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal
into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our
past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie
In the name of gratitude and truthfulness I’ve decided to post a little piece of reality here once a week. Likely just a single picture. See my original postΒ here.
Right now I am thankful for fresh market produce, a hubby who helps make jam and can cherries despite the late hour (and takes over when I am way too tired to finish) and who doesn’t even cry when one of the jars comes out of the canner with the bottom snapped off (because my emotional state might not rule out such a reaction).
If you’d like to join in with a reality check of your own, please add a link or note in the comments!
Welcome to a new week!
I have never seen that before. Your husband sounds like a keeper π
Don’t you just h-te when that happens? Makes me mad after all the hard work. xx
I love your reality checks posts.
Wow! What a clean break. And what a wonderful partner!
I couldn’t figure out that photo until I read the words. I thought it was a new type of canning style. ; )
XO
Crazy, never seen a jar just break like that. Glad you have such a sweet hubby to help out.
I have never seen a jar break like that too. So strange!

I think I am about to cry,I am sorry Rachel,I have had that happen, and I have cried.:(
Hooray for your husband!
You’ve all been with me for my reality check the past couple of weeks… it’s not been pretty. In fact, I know better than to try canning right now. Those cherries would have turned me into vapor… and my husband does NOT can.
Blessings, Debbie
Oh I’m sorry that happened. Give your husband a big hug (sideways?) for his wonderful help. My husband doesn’t know how to can, but would offer kind words and then proceed to wipe up the mess.
Aw, I probably would have cried! Lucky you have your hubby by your side!
xx
What an odd break. It would make me cry, too!
I’m joining you this week. I’ve been meaning to for a few weeks now. π

You are so lucky to have a hubs that helps. I think my hubs knows where the kitchen is but I am pretty sure he doesn’t know how to turn on the stove. It’s a 50/50 chance he knows how to use the toaster. π
