“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal
into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our
past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie
In the name of gratitude and truthfulness I’ve decided to post a little piece of reality here once a week. Likely just a single picture. See my original post here.
Today I’m thankful that eventually it will grow back even as I sob that those curls were lost in fixing what his sisters did to him….and he still has a bald spot.
If you’d like to join in with a reality check of your own, please add a link or note in the comments!
Look Mom no bangs!! 🙂 He is still gorgeous even without curls! And you’ll be able to laugh about it when it grows back! Just look at those eyes and the tiniest grin – I don’t think it’s bothering him at all! Gotta love them!
Oh dear! Poor Simon.
Oh! I’m sure it was hard to see the curls go. He is adorable regardless.
He still is beautiful and what crafty sisters he has 🙂 I wonder what the discussion was when they were beautifying their brother??
Oh dear… he is such a sweetie, though, whatever the haircut! 🙂
OH no! Awe gosh, he’s cute no matter what!
He IS cute no matter what and now he will have a great story to tell!
Awww…
I am feeling your pain. Guess what *my* reality check picture is for Tuesday…? Odd how parallel these things seem to go for the two of us… xo
Poor, sweet boy! I still miss my son’s curls.
Oh my goodness, a sister haircut? yikes! My daughter is 10 and likes to give her brother(3) makeovers with make up and styles his hair( which he hates cause he has ringlet curls) I would be so sad if she were to cut them off, I am pretty sure she is old enough to know better,I hope. He gets mad as us for ruining his curls after he gets his hair washed so I don’t think he would be cool with it either.
Your little boy has such a sweet face!
Oh no! Hoping those curls grow right back for you 🙂 (Love the Sunday series you’ve started…I’ll keep it in mind for next week!)
Oh I have so been there! The curls always come back. I remember cutting my little brothers hair more than once!
I’m sorry Rachel, I laughed when I read your post! He is such a cutie and I think all mother’s have gone through the same thing. What is it about kid’s , sissors and hair? And you’re right…it will grow back.xx
Yes, it will grow back… for now, try to focus on the wonderful/horrible story you and your girls will tell for the rest of your lives. It will grow back!
Blessings, Debbie
OH! Scissor wielding sisters! Yes, the curls will grow back. I know you can’t laugh about it now…but you will.
Oh my. Well, he’s still pretty darn cute!
oh my! he still looks adorable – it’s those big, beautiful eyes!
Sisters!!! Ah well. I bet he loved the attention though :).
xx oo
Oh no! Darn sisters with scissors. Luckily, he’s such a handsome tiny fellow which ever way his locks frame his sweet face.

This is one of those family stories that will live long in the House of Jays – hopefully not to be repeated, except in the telling!! If only one could have eavesdropped on the conversation between siblings as it unfolded….
