A weekend of discovery, sunshine and productivity.
Girl time with some beautiful friends
A lucrative market visit
Some back to (home)school shopping
A dozen canning jars for a steal
Goodies from our very own garden
A new recipe tried, tasted and preserved
That same recipe repeated the next day following rave reviews (more on that later)
A lovely friend sharing the exciting and exhausting task of turning 31lbs of tomatoes into another delicious salsa
Enjoying that salsa still warm over tacos
A gift of crab apples
Sunny days to prolong the feel of summer
Playground laughter, arguments and tears
A most appreciated supporting role while Dan tackled the long process of making and canning 20 L of tomato sauce
Another weekend of muddy toes and dirty fingernails
:::
A most wonderful long weekend

Your long weekending looks amazing and calming. I still try to preserve something too. So many plans and so little time, I think that I have to change priorities;)
Sound like a wonderful weekend! Those tomatoes looks so good!
All the fresh produce looks lovely. How wonderful to have a friend help with the canning, it does make it the work more fun and canning salsa [and tasting] is the best! Have you started school yet? We are starting tomorrow. I would love to keep the vacation going, but I guess it’s time for us to get back at it! Enjoy this beautiful day! xx
a great weekend indeed! Lovely photos my friend. We are starting school today, how bout you?
Sounds like a lovely weekend!
I am jealous of your home-canned tomato sauce. We put four Roma tomato plants in containers out back this spring—since we are renting (and our landlord was trying to sell the house until about a month ago!) I didn’t want to plant right in the yard—but the rabbit that lives back there ate almost all of them… If we are still here next year I may have to put up a very temporary chicken-wire fence to keep the little guy out… xo
We have not had as many tomatoes as I thought from our garden. Maybe next year will be more productive. I love the sunflower photo 🙂 Your weekend looks so relaxing and I bet you are in a new routine with your little family addition!
Love the photos of your long weekend. So many exciting and delicious things – can I look forward to a new recipe perhaps?
Your pictures in this post are WONDERFUL!
Looks like quite a list! Wondering if I’ll get half as much done so soon after our new baby arrives….:) (Perfect ladybug picture, by the way!)
Love the lady bug photo!
Beautiful pictures Rachel, especially the bee and the sunflower :). 31 pounds?!!!! Thank goodness for friends :). And now I am craving chips and salsa!!!
xx oo
