“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal
into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our
past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie
In the name of gratitude and truthfulness I’ve decided to post a little piece of reality here once a week. Likely just a single picture. See my original post here.
While this doesn’t quite follow the usual pattern of my reality check posts, today I’m thankful for peace and freedom. Thankful that my day to day frustrations are nothing compared to what many endure day after day. Thankful that fear does not rule. Thankful that after all faith and hope remain. Thankful that love conquers all.
If you’d like to join in with a reality check of your own, please add a link or note in the comments!
Beautiful post!
Beautiful words, Rachel. How true and how much to be thankful for.
Appreciate something abstract sometimes can be confusing. Only little quiet moments help us to be more thoughtful and appreciative.

Agreed! I love that flower…and your words my friend.
[…] was thinking about today’s post, after this weekend, when I read Rachel’s Reality Check. She already put my thoughts into beautiful words of gratefulness. So I’ll leave it at that. […]
You said it all.
My reality check is really nothing but a link back to yours, it was just all that needed to be said.
