“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal
into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our
past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie
In the name of gratitude and truthfulness I’ve decided to post a little piece of reality here once a week. Likely just a single picture. See my original postย here.
the view on our bed
what’s left of the plant behind our bed
Today I’m thankful that four and two year olds find ways to amuse themselves while mommy is canning, that this plant hadn’t been watered for a couple of weeks, that a picture was taken for the future time when this would be humorous, and that no adults lost their cool.
If you’d like to join in with a reality check of your own, please add a link or note in the comments!
Oh mama! I can’t help but laugh…I have so been there.
Oh my…
That looks a lot like what the cat did to my spider plant a few weeks ago. I was not nearly as charitable and good-natured about it as you are, though… xo
Most of my plants soil looks the same way! So glad you have children that know how to entertain themselves in creative ways and are creating great stories for when they have children of their own. xx
Haha, sorry but I had to laugh!
I have so been there.
Ooops… I woke up today to a desk lamp (a posh one, present from my mother) decorated in chalk and felt tip pen. Luckily it washed off easily! ๐
Oh…
You’re so tolerant and wise;)

this is great. I have had a couple of times that I did loose my cool, and looking back, when I laughed upon the situation, I wished that I had just taken a picture and enjoyed the ride.
Way to be a patient mama!
Oh my! I would not like this reality check at all. At least you got your canning done ๐
THANK YOU for posting this Rachel. I really really needed it today.
oh my goodness….wowee!
