Wow, I almost missed this week. How did I forget….perhaps it’s the many projects I’m preoccupied with at the moment.
Although there is still some Christmas crazy happening in my head I’ve tamed my wild plans quite a bit. I’m still working on a Rae. I’ve been trying to squeeze in a few rows here and there. I’m hoping I’ll have it done in time – although done and blocked is a different story.
There are many other gifts I’ve been hoping to finish but unless it only needs buttons I’m trying to let it go. Although maybe Mira will have one of these on Christmas…maybe.
We’re still enjoying picking through our basket of Christmas books but I am most excited with the title that Dan found on the holds shelf at the library today. Lori recommended Wildwood a few weeks ago and I couldn’t wait to check it out. The illustrations have captivated me before I’ve even read a word. I think it will be the perfect post-Christmas read.

Are you busy crafting for the holidays? Or perhaps you’ve already dived into wonderful holiday read? Do share!
And for more yarn along posts visit Ginny at Small Things.
Wow, that yarn looks so soft and luxurious. I love the colour. Good on you for the Christmas knitting!!!
I love the scarf/shawl pattern you chose! Christmas craziness has hit here too, I wonder why??
That yarn looks cozy! I have been up late the past few nights knitting like mad… hoping I will finish in time!!
I am still hoping to finish my last kiddo sweater. I am trying my hand at the tomten. Yikes! I am on the hood, which means I still have two sleeves. At least I gave up my dreams of other handknits.
It’s okay to let things go, especially with little ones. They won’t mind; only you do. Love that yarn for your mother in law’s gift.
Love the yarn you are working with – looks nice and cozy 🙂
I’m so ready for our holiday break! need more knitting time!
I love the yarn you chose! I’ve been trying to fit in as much holiday knitting as I can too, but time seems to have excaped at double the rate this year!
Good luck with all the Christmas knitting.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
oh rachel, your doing so much better than i and my babies are all grown! your knitting looks lovely, love the photo of the soft smooshy wool. and wildwood, :). i’m picking up my copy here and there, reading only a page or two a day (i still work full time) but more, because i want it to last, i just love it, the story but also the art, everything. did you know the authors put together a soundtrack to go with the book?
merry merry christmas dear,
xoxo
Beautiful yarn you’ve chosen for your mother-in-law, and I also LOVE the teether pattern you’ve picked out for Mira.
I will definitely be reading Wildwood, too…..soooo many giving great reviews of it. Stealth knitting is always difficult around Chrismas time. It’s not like you can put your MIL to bed early so you can knit her present, can you? Merry Christmas!
Looks like an interesting book 🙂 And the present looks nice too- I hope you get finished!
Love the yarn! I can’t wait to hear how you like the book. I had it home, but am out of time… I need to read other things more right now. I will pick it up again in the new year.
I’m looking for some books to put on the post-Christmas library list, I’ll look into Wildwood. Good luck getting everything finished!
Thanks for reminding me to FINALLY request “Wildwood” from my library!
That book looks awesome! I’ll have to see if my library has it…
happy holiday knitting! I love checking out your book recommendations. They are always spot on for what I like.
Did you get it finished in time? I’ll bet it looks gorgeous! Off to check out wildwood now….
[…] a blur of last minute crafting and knitting as last week ended. Sadly, I didn’t finish the Rae. There was not enough secret knitting time and the days got away from me. A birthday gift it will […]
