A baby in shades and a boy playing baby;
a day of cleaning rewarded with an evening (and $16 dinner for 8) at IKEA;
fabric for curtains and the rods we’d needed for hanging them;
six in bed before collapsing with puerperium and the Doctor;
a lazy day of hung laundry, stolen moments with book, dusting, and party prep;
a bag of apples from a neighbour’s tree;
a baby shower to celebrate the upcoming birth of a dear friend’s first child;
home again to tuck the last standing child in bed;
discovering they’d spent their evening cleaning the chaos, also known as the basement;
a good morning, high hopes of further basement cleaning replaced with a much slower and welcome speed;
more laundry hung, more stolen moments, a new recipe, and yard cleanup by little helpers;
friends joining us for dinner;
and a wise (and gentle) reminder from one of those friends that summer is short and children don’t stay young for long.
This weekend was busy work, slow pace, and cherished moments.
once again I’m doubling up with these two beautiful friends

Did you enjoy the ice cream sandwiches? My Mike is a huge fan and I really should make him some.
Also I would love to hear what you think about the book you are reading, it’s been on my list for awhile.
No, children don’t stay young for long at all, I blinked and now have young adults!
The first photo made my day (I don’t lie)! As for book, I also would like to know your opinion about it.
Have a good day!

look at that smile and those shiny new front teeth!!!! She is adorable curls and all 🙂 Your son looks sweet in the baby carrier. Love when we get together with friends, it’s a relaxing time!
Sounds like a delightful weekend… what cuties you have!
What a gloriously full weekend my friend! I love your big boy playing baby…to stinkin’ cute!
Oh my goodness! That first picture is the BEST! Gave me a HUGE smile. Then the second was like the cherry on top! Thanks for making my Monday!
Rachel,
What a lovely post filled with good things. The top picture just made my day!! And brought me the biggest of smiles.
Sounds like a great weekend.
Lots of love to your friend!

What beautiful teeth she has! Growing up too fast. Love the kids photos – S looks so relaxed and natural there. Can’t believe he still fits in that baby seat. Glad you had a great weekend.
A bag of apples from your neighbour’s tree sounds so delightful…
Just love that photo of your boy pretending to be a baby. Seriously made me smile.

Oh, yes, playing in the baby carrier is the perennial favorite here too! Though I haven’t let them stay in it long enough for a photo…
